Kenosha Trip

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a visit on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day and we spent most of it outside.  Here are the highlights.

Lauren Kate and Sydney McKenna

FINALLY! The two meet while Sydney is in town, older, and awake :) It was so fun to see the girls together, even though they didn't "play" together. Sydney started with a toy, Lauren would take it. Lauren would put one in her mouth, Sydney would do the same. The pictures are great and even better are the two of the "Girls" and then the "Boys." Just look at how LK and Sydney could seem to care less while Mac and I are holding them. Then, they go to their dads and are all smiles. LOL. And what beautiful, perfect clones of their dads they are.

(Sorry, the picture quality didn't transfer well from email.)

Thankful

My second Mother's Day has passed, and what a wonderful thing to be able to say I'm a mother.  I was doing dishes tonight and looking into the family room at all of the toys that come with having a child.  I just thought how blessed I am to be able to have a family room full of toys.  I love the mess that comes with having a baby because it means we have a baby.  So, I am thankful.

Thanful Lauren's first head wound didn't require stitches.

You Say It's Your Birthday!

Well, here is how we woke up this morning...

Our little princess turned one year old today.  I sit here disbelieving a whole year has gone by since Lauren came into our world.  It gets me all choked up actually.  Life before Lauren Kate was good.  It was really good.  But it was not what it was supposed to be...what it could be.  We are thankful every day that God gave us this sweet little girl.  Full of spunk and giggles and smiles.  She is going to be full of mischief as she gets older.  My prediction is we'll see it this next year of her life.  Just in time for the TWO's.  But oh how we have loved every single day and how she has made coming home each day a joy beyond words.  All our love to our LK.   xoxoxo, mom and dad

Here are a few from her party:
