I'm bringing Preppy Back

Today Michael wore the sweater that Chris wore 33 years ago.  He looks so cute in it too.  He's bringing preppy back.

Thanksgiving

Well our first Thanksgiving as a family of 4 has passed.  It was really nice and we hosted at our house.  Lauren got along so well with Elijah and played with him all afternoon.  Michael got to hang out with the Miller side and get to know everyone a little more.  Michael is pulling himself to a stand now... we are hoping he doesn't decide to walk for a few more months still.  Here are some highlights.

Grandma, Grandpa, MC, LK

LK helped put the napkin rings on the napkins. Animated as always.

MC started the crawling maze under the table.

LK went potty at Kohl's so we bought some big girl underwear. She has worn them once, but it is a start!

The first place Michael crawled to and pulled to a stand was the tub. He loves it there.  He is fascinated by the running water.

Such a love.  Love those two bottom teeth.

We started LK in a gymnastics toddler tumbling class.  Today was the first class...she goes on Friday when Nani and Papa watch her. She loved it.

Tonight LK helped me with the Christmas tree decorations.  Bedtime was dragged out til 8:15 :)

Putting up her stocking with a little help this year.  She is so excited for Santa!

Lunch today with Great Nana...picture quality wasn't good when I enlarged this so it is smaller pic.

Michael is 8 months old

Time is flying.  Michael is pulling himself up onto his knees, and the daycare teacher said he was standing in his crib last week.  He hasn't done it at home, but we lowered the mattress in the crib just in case.  I looked at Chris the other night and said, "how can he be pulling up already?  Wait, he IS 8 months old, not 3 months like I keep thinking.  I guess he'll be walking in 4."  It's just crazy.

Michael has two bottom teeth now.  I tried to get a picture but it is very hard to see it yet.  He is chewing away like crazy so I think he'll have 4 on the bottom soon.  He is wearing 12 month clothing.  Butternut squash and sweet potatoes are his favorite, although, he has tried and kept down peas, apples, combo of some fruits.  He's slowly getting the hang of it.  He has a killer grasp and is very focused.  He will laugh when you tickle near his collarbone.  He crawls fast now and when he wants you, he'll crawl right to your feet and tug on your pant leg with his head butting up agains your legs.  He is such a love.

You can kind of see one bottom tooth in the middle of his mouth in this picture above.
Had to take some pics of him eating on Friday night. He was having such a good time.

And I thought LK looked so pretty...loved her hair in this picture.

Happy Halloween!

Tonight was Halloween night at the Millers.  We picked the kids up from daycare, changed them into their outfits (well, LK had hers on the whole day since daycare had a parade and activities with costumes), and hit the road.  Lauren did very well saying Trick-or-Treat and Thank you.  Michael was the cutest bumble bee...and he hung on until 6 when he had to eat and go to bed.
Woke my little pumpkin up this morning with a full diaper...he still has sleepy eyes.

Started the night out with Sophia across the street...both girls didn't want to smile yet.

Sorry...this was the best of the 3 that i got!

First house...our neighbors

2nd house...our sitter Tina

3rd house...she got the hang of it

4th house...Sophia's, and she walked right in after this candy drop.  Told her we weren't done yet!

Then Michael went in for the night and Daddy went to a few more houses with LK.  It was a nice night.

7 Months Old

Michael turned 7 months old today.  He is rocking on his hands and knees like a pro.  I swear we saw him do one little army crawl yesterday....he dragged his body slightly forward using his forearms.  We don't think he really wants to crawl; he'd rather start walking after his sister.  I stood him on his feet to hold onto the ottoman and then when I tried to put him back to a sit, his arms flew straight up toward the ottoman and he wanted to stand.

So far, he likes sweet potatoes and cereal.  Today we tried carrots and he thought they were ok.  At least he didn't throw any of them up.  He is teething and chewing his bottom lip and anything else he can put in his mouth.  Michael will say "dadadada," and laugh with Lauren.  We never get tired of this.

He sat in the bucket swing for the first time this weekend and loved it.  I'm told Chris loved the swing as a baby too.  He almost fell asleep in it with the warm breeze and swaying yesterday.  He's starting to pack on a few pounds for the next growth spurt.

We love you Michael!

Video of Michael sitting with his blocks...hoping he would make some noise.  Nope

I HATE Green Beans

Well, after 5 tries of rice cereal, I thought I'd be adventurous and try green beans last night.  It wasn't a hit.  You would have thought I was feeding him brandy. (I would have given the same expression had I taken a sip of brandy.)

Notice how he looks like he is going to puke.  Lauren is having a blast laughing at him.

After I went to get rice cereal to mix with the green beans, I gave him a bite.  That was all it took.  He threw all of it back up.

The Prince and the Washcloths

While getting ready one morning, I put Michael down in the bedroom to have Lauren entertain him.  I talked to them as I was getting ready and heard Lauren running in and out of the room and giggling.  Then she would say something to Michael and I went out and checked to see what they were doing....
