A little bit of Vegas

Chris and I just went to Las Vegas for a quick getaway.  It was wonderful with lots of good food, great weather, and spa services!  We were able to do plenty of walking as well so we didn't feel like complete gluttons (sp?).  We did miss Miss Lauren we can't deny, but she had tons of fun with both sets of grand parents while we were away.  Here are some pics of Lauren that are random and then of Vegas, and a few videos to catch you up.

Eating her spaghetti with squash, green beans, and cannelini beans.

Hit #1
Hit #2
Who me?  I don't have spaghetti!
Fine.  Heheheh, it was me.
Our room at the Venetian in LV.  I think there were 3 TV's in the room.

Our view of the pool from our room.

Walking to the pool.

Oh yeah, I guess a few pics of US in them while on vacation would be nice.  This was the pic from the random that Chris picked.  Notice how this person's objective was to get the tall building behind us, and theeeeeeere we are.
View of the Venetian entrance where the gondolas go through.
This is the pic from the random that I picked out to take our picture.  Much closer :)

This is a picture of a Johnny Depp look-alike dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, and of the guy from New Moon...don't know his name...one of the teen heartthrob vampires.  I tried to get them to turn around for a picture but they wouldn't.
We went to see two shows in Vegas...one was LOVE by Cirque with all Beatles music.  The second was a comedy show with Frank Caliendo...he is from Waukesha so we gave it a shot.  His George Bush and Charles Barkley impressions were hilarious.
That is it for the pics!  We didn't take a ton on vacation because we were mostly at the Venetian or I would just forget. :)

First Dip in the Pool

Lauren was out for her first swim in the pool last weekend. I was not there but Chris was and it looks like they had a blast. They were at Nani and Papa's neighborhood pool and she did well with her float. I love her very first cherry swimsuit.

Papa helping her into her pool float that she got for her birthday.
Daddy helps hold it still while she sinks in and gets used to the water.
And, she's off!
Everyone's having fun!  (I think)
Lunch break
Sunscreen time again.
Nani Nani Boo Boo!  Can't catch me with my torpedo in the mouth.
hahahaha.  As Lauren says, "Hi!"

Kenosha Trip

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a visit on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day and we spent most of it outside.  Here are the highlights.

Lauren Kate and Sydney McKenna

FINALLY! The two meet while Sydney is in town, older, and awake :) It was so fun to see the girls together, even though they didn't "play" together. Sydney started with a toy, Lauren would take it. Lauren would put one in her mouth, Sydney would do the same. The pictures are great and even better are the two of the "Girls" and then the "Boys." Just look at how LK and Sydney could seem to care less while Mac and I are holding them. Then, they go to their dads and are all smiles. LOL. And what beautiful, perfect clones of their dads they are.

(Sorry, the picture quality didn't transfer well from email.)

Thankful

My second Mother's Day has passed, and what a wonderful thing to be able to say I'm a mother.  I was doing dishes tonight and looking into the family room at all of the toys that come with having a child.  I just thought how blessed I am to be able to have a family room full of toys.  I love the mess that comes with having a baby because it means we have a baby.  So, I am thankful.

Thanful Lauren's first head wound didn't require stitches.

Thankful.

You Say It's Your Birthday!

Well, here is how we woke up this morning...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raBonaFGmwg

Our little princess turned one year old today.  I sit here disbelieving a whole year has gone by since Lauren came into our world.  It gets me all choked up actually.  Life before Lauren Kate was good.  It was really good.  But it was not what it was supposed to be...what it could be.  We are thankful every day that God gave us this sweet little girl.  Full of spunk and giggles and smiles.  She is going to be full of mischief as she gets older.  My prediction is we'll see it this next year of her life.  Just in time for the TWO's.  But oh how we have loved every single day and how she has made coming home each day a joy beyond words.  All our love to our LK.   xoxoxo, mom and dad

Here are a few from her party:
