Lauren and Kayla

Two nights ago we let Lauren hang out on the deck after dinner and we didn't go out there with her.  We were giving her a little "independence."  When she was really quiet, I went out to look for her and this is what she was doing......

Door County 2011

Our first vacation as a family of 4 to Door County, WI.  This was the same vacation we took LK on when she was 6 weeks old.  It was a lot of fun to watch Lauren swim and play on swing sets and eat ice cream & candy and see all sorts of new things with pure excitement.  This was Michael's first vacation, and once again to DC.  Aunt Erin flew in to surprise our parents for Father's Day and wouldn't you know, I have ZERO pictures with her on my camera.  I'll have to wait for Mom to send them to me, or Erin, who I'm positive I'll find posted on Facebook.  Stay tuned.

We're off to find the swing set.

MC 3 months

Michael is now 3 months old and much more alert.  He had his first giggles the other day and I didn't get it on camera.  We are working on getting him to move his head to his left more because he has a tendency to stay to the right and his head is flattening a little that way.  He does not love tummy time, but he does it and seems to tolerate it.  He is most talkative when lying on his back and looking straight up at you...then he can swat his arms and kick his legs.  He'll talk up a storm when you have him that way, especially on the changing table.   Tomorrow we take our first family vacation for a long weekend up to Door County.  I'll post more pics later.  xo, jackie

More Two's

Lauren Kate is now 2 years old.  She has a vocabulary of a 3 year old according to the pediatrician and we can definitely TELL.  She is VERY vocal and lets us know what is up (and what to do...she thinks she rules the house).  It is really entertaining to listen to her and you have to be careful of what you say because you WILL hear it again.  Just when you think she's forgotten, 2 weeks later she'll pull it out and surprise you.

We don't know where the time went and she is truly the sweetest thing.  We are so lucky!

Two's

Michael is now 2 months old!  He is growing wonderfully and is now 12 lbs...double his birth weight in 9 weeks.  He is such a wonderful and content baby.  He is sleeping from 8 or 8:30 until 3 in the morning for his first feeding.  Then up a couple hours later for the day.  We love him so.
