I HATE Green Beans

Well, after 5 tries of rice cereal, I thought I'd be adventurous and try green beans last night.  It wasn't a hit.  You would have thought I was feeding him brandy. (I would have given the same expression had I taken a sip of brandy.)   

Notice how he looks like he is going to puke.  Lauren is having a blast laughing at him.

After I went to get rice cereal to mix with the green beans, I gave him a bite.  That was all it took.  He threw all of it back up.

While getting ready one morning, I put Michael down in the bedroom to have Lauren entertain him.  I talked to them as I was getting ready and heard Lauren running in and out of the room and giggling.  Then she would say something to Michael and I went out and checked to see what they were doing....

He is a mover and shaker now.  Never sits still...changing him makes me sweat.  He likes to roll and get up on his hands and knees and revv up like he is going to crawl.  Well, he hasn't crawled yet but is getting ready.  He has started solids and isn't that great at it but he'll get the hang of it.  He'll suck down a bottle pretty well so we think it is a texture thing.  No teeth yet, but I think the bottom two are close to coming through.  He is such a joy.

Reasons to Smile

Well, today is Labor Day, 2011.  Lauren Kate Miller officially took her first poop on the Elmo Potty Chair.  I know this isn't the day that she will start to go all of the time, but it was exciting none the less.  We made a big deal of it in hopes that she'll want to go again.  No, I don't have a picture of her doing this, but there was lots of cheering and smiles on our end.

Also, Michael started eating cereal and HE is smiling about it.

Then cousins John and Tayler came over with Natalie and hung out for a bit.  It was the first time John met Michael and Tayler saw him for the 2nd or 3rd time.  Natalie is cruising around. It'll be a fun Christmas this year with the babies.

This is my 100th post on my blog!  And how fitting that it should be a special post of Michael's baptism.  Of course, I have no photos of us at the church.  I'm waiting on those from those who took them.  But, I'll upload some others that I had at the house.  It was a wonderful day, and despite both kids being sick, they did awesome at the church service and the after party.

Chris's birthday afternoon

For Chris's birthday we went to the lakefront for the morning and stopped at Glorioso's to pack up a picnic lunch to bring with us.  We were going to ride the bikes but there was no where to put Michael and we couldn't hold him because we both had to pedal.  So, we just walked and looked at boats and kites and ran around on the grass.  The event lasted until 10:30 so we had our picnic at home.  Then Grandma and Grandpa came to have dinner and bring the other bucket swing that completed the swing set:
